Nothing can match the grandeur and excess breast milk, both for the mother to the child. According to a study reported by Reuters, when mothers breastfeed their babies until the age of 1 year, there is added value for health for the mother and the child.
In the reported study, the researchers found evidence that duration of breast feeding to infants can decrease the risk of maternal high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and cardiovascular disease after menopause.
This discovery is reported in the medical journal Obstetrics and Gynecology. The data obtained from a study of 140,000 women who breastfeed their babies breast milk.
According to Dr. Eleanor Bimla Schwarz of the University of Pittsburgh, the benefits of breast feeding on cardiovascular disease risk factors depend on the number of proportion. So, the longer the duration of breast-feeding her, the better the benefits.
Women who breast feed their children more than 12 months did not have significantly affected the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease than women who did not give milk to her baby.
Schwarz and his colleagues speculate that the benefits of breastfeeding have more benefits than just reducing the fat deposits of the mother and the effect of decreasing the risk of heart attacks could be caused by hormonal effects of breastfeeding.
