Causes of Autism Difficult People Communicating

People with autism do not appear very concerned with the surrounding environment. Now researchers have found the cause of why people with autism have to fight hard in the social environment.

Researchers from the University of Cambridge who do research with a sophisticated brain scans found that some part of the autistic brain does not recognize the awareness of himself. As a result, not only communicate, to recognize personal awareness course, the patient had difficulties.

Sophisticated brain scans obtained indicate autism researchers look less active when engaged in thinking about self-awareness. The results of this study have been published in the journal Brain.

This study has shown a problem with autism is in terms of difficulty thinking about something and make sense about herself and others.

The researchers used functional magnetic resonance scan to assess brain activity of 66 male volunteers, which was around 50 percent been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.

The volunteers were asked to provide an assessment of the mind itself, opinions, preferences, physical characteristics and are required to provide an assessment of other people.

By doing brain scans of volunteers in responding to these questions, the researchers could see a difference in brain activity between patients with autism who do not.

Researchers are interested in the part of the brain called the ventrodial pre-frontal cortex (vMPFC) known active when a person thinks about himself.

"This study shows that autistic brains have to work hard to process information about themselves, whereas for exploring social interactions with other people who needed the business harder," said Michael Lombardo of the University of Cambridge, as quoted by the BBC.

"We know many people with autism is very difficult to interact with others and build friendships, is because they have difficulty in recognizing and understanding the thoughts and feelings of others," said Dr. Gina Gomez de la Cuesta from the National Autistic Society.
