The man who has a gender disorder suspected Klinefelter syndrome is difficult to have a child. But now researchers have found a method that can help men with Klinefelter syndrome in order to have a child with a way to collect sperm.A recent study that found a way to undergo a surgical procedure to collect the sperm of these men, which will be used in the process of fertilization.
Klinefelter syndrome experienced by a man means in the body carrying an additional copy of chromosome X. Usually males have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome (XY), while women have two X chromosomes (XX). But in people with Klinefelter syndrome have an XXY chromosome and the major impact of this disorder is to have less fertility disorder.
"We took 91 semen of our patients, and 62 patients gained as much as we could have a child by using the operation technique to retrieve sperm," said Dr. Ranjith Ramasamy in New York-Presbyterian Hospital, was quoted as saying by Reuters.
More than half or as much as 57 percent of couples of these men became pregnant after sperm egg combined with his partner in the laboratory, in a procedure known as IVF (in vitro fertilization). It was not all that successful pregnancy until delivery, but as a whole as much as 45 percent of those couples who are trying to get pregnant could have a child.
The researchers report these results in the Journal of Urology in September of this. Sperm retrieval is more likely to succeed in male young age. With a success rate of 71 percent in men ages 22 to 30 years, by 86 percent in men ages 31 to 35 years and 50 percent in men ages 36 to 52 years. The oldest patient who successfully run the operation at the age of 45 years.
When a man with a rare syndrome Klinefelters still using sperm retrieval method in comparison with testosterone replacement therapy method, which is a method that is not common in men with Klinefelter syndrome.
Now the man who has a rare disorder of gender is still able to have children, and young age will provide greater opportunities in determining the success of this method.
