Test To Know The number of eggs

May be for couple may only know about the examination of sperm for men. But now the number of eggs owned by a woman can be checked.

Australian researchers do simple hormone test to find out how much the number of eggs in the ovaries of a woman. This could also help fertility treatments for couples who want to have children, especially to help the success of the IVF process.

"This blood test is called the 'egg timer' and can accurately predict the level of an ovum from a woman based on certain fertility hormones. And this is a big improvement," said Peter Illingworth, medical director of IVF Australia, as quoted by AFP.

Illingworth tells these tests can identify young women at risk is difficult to have children when he was growing. It also could identify women who will experience early menopause, so it can plan needed fertility treatments to help her more easily with children.

Examination of this egg cell with a test called anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH). Illingworth tells now is still a large cost required to conduct inspection of these eggs.

"Women who have had cancer treatment, endometriosis or had surgery related to the ovaries may benefit degan this test. Because can know with certainty whether the number of eggs or just simply too small which makes it difficult to get pregnant," he said.

In addition to knowing the number of eggs that are owned, this test can also save the cost of doing IVF process. Because of these test results can also be known how much the success of the IVF process to be carried out by the couple.

Examination results showed a lower pregnancy rate found in women who have low levels of AMH. This makes some scientists believe that AMH could be a good marker in knowing the number of eggs that are owned, since AMH levels declines with age, a woman.

An average woman is born with a 1-2 million eggs in the ovary, the egg will come out each month during menstruation to women experiencing menopause. Women aged 20-year will have as many as 200,000 eggs. But this number will further decrease as the age of 30 years and the 2000 number to stay alone at the age of 40 years.
