Few mothers who previously gave birth by cesarean section was not going to be a normal delivery. But now women who have had a cesarean can safely give birth normally. The results of the discussion the experts indicate that there is no reason for a woman who once had a cesarean delivery should undergo the same procedure for subsequent pregnancies.
Fear of medical practice become the main obstacle to women to give birth in a normal vaginal delivery after previous cesarean.
"This meeting is based on the increasing cesarean operation in some countries or the world," said Dr. F Gary Cunningham, chairman of the conference and also chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, as quoted by AP.
Cunningham added that women generally perform cesarean section was more likely to perform cesarean also for subsequent pregnancies.
This of course will cause some problems, because the actual time of healing after cesarean longer if compared with the normal way. Besides the risk arising from a cesarean section is greater than the normal way.
"What we found was a normal birth vaginally is a safe alternative for the majority of women who previously gave birth by Cesarean. But this is only a consideration only and it does not mean all women can give birth after a normal delivery, depending on the condition of both," Cunningham said.
There are several main reasons why the choice of natural childbirth as a barrier to see the safety of the mother and the fetus or the existence of a condition which does not allow normal birth mother for fear of complications.
Because it required a good cooperation between health workers to mothers who are pregnant. Some women are there who have a risk if a normal birth, but this is not a sine qua non that women who had given birth by Cesarean delivery had to go through again.
